Town of Medea

Medea is a modest but well-traveled town situated along a busy trade route, making it a common stop for merchants, pilgrims, caravan guards, and wandering adventurers. Though not as wealthy or fortified as the great cities of Tarron, the town benefits from the constant movement of people and goods through the region. Its inns, stables, market stalls, shrines, and roadside services give it the practical character of a place built around travelers rather than grandeur.

To most visitors, Medea appears ordinary: a dependable waypoint where one can find a meal, a bed, fresh horses, repaired gear, and the latest rumors from the road. But beneath that familiar surface, darker stories linger. Travelers speak of strange disappearances, cursed bargains, infernal omens, and old roadside places where the wise do not linger after sundown. The locals are used to strangers passing through, but not every traveler who arrives in Medea is seen leaving it.

Several Tavern & Tome Press adventures touch the Medea region, including The Haggard Inn and Into the Nine Hells. Together, these adventures suggest that Medea’s position along the trade roads has brought more than commerce to its doorstep, and that this otherwise unassuming town may stand closer to sinister powers than its people are willing to admit.
